Rachael is a seasoned clinician and educator who specializes in EMDR therapy. She runs a group counseling practice in Illinois, consults as a managing partner of clinical innovations worldwide, and trains EMDR clinicians.
She is an active member in several leadership roles including the EMDRIA Board of Directors, member of the Executive Committee, and chair of the Research Ethics Standards and Credentialing Committee. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for the EMDRIA Foundation.
She has taught at universities in the US and Australia and has worked with diverse populations around the world. She is passionate about using psychoeducation to empower her clients and colleagues.
She offers both telehealth and in-person sessions, and integrates other approaches such as Internal Family Systems, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Somatic Therapy. She applies the latest techniques in EMDR, such as the processing continuum, Parnell’s advanced resourcing, and EMDR 2.0.

EMDRIA Certification Requirements
EMDR Certified Status Criteria
EMDRIA approved training
Must submit evidence via a copy of the certificate of completion from EMDR basic training.
Fully Licensed
A clinician must be fully licensed for independent practice in their field with a minimum of 2 years experience in the field. Must submit a copy of the license.
20 Hours of EMDR Consultation
These hours only count after your initial 10 hours of consultation for EMDR basic training have been completed. EMDR certification consultation hours begin after EMDR basic training has been completed. You must submit documentation from your consultant-in-training or consultant of these hours. If you have more than one consultant, documentation is required from all. At least 10 of these hours must be through individual EMDR consultation and up to 10 of these hours can be through group EMDR consultation. Consultants in training can provide 15 of the 20 required hours.
Notarized Statement of EMDR Experience
Must have completed and submit a notarized statement verifying that “I have at least 2 years experience in my field of license and I have conducted at
least 50 EMDR therapy sessions with at least 25 clients”
Letters of Recommendation - EMDR Consultant/s
Must submit a letter or recommendation from one or more EMDRIA approved EMDR consultants regarding your use and implementation of EMDR therapy.
Letters of Recommendation - Peers
Must submit two letters of recommendation regarding your use and implementation of EMDR therapy and work with clients, professional character, and
ethics in practice from peers/colleagues.
12 Hours of EMDRIA Continuing Education Credits
Must complete 12 hours of EMDRIA approved CE hours and submit documented proof (certificates) with the application. EMDR basic training hours do not count towards these hours.
